Jane Seymour Glamorous Star of "Dr Quinn Medicine Woman" was born and brought up in Hillingdon. She was recently interviewed live on the internet for Yahoo, which used these photographs. What they said: Born Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg in Hillingdon, England, to a doctor father and nurse mother, Seymour worked as a ballet dancer before making her film debut as a chorus girl in 1968's Oh! What A Lovely War. She made her first big splash five years later as Bond girl Solitaire in Live and Let Die, and spent much of the '70s and '80s portraying uppercrust vamps in films and, especially, on TV. Off-screen, Seymour played wife three times (including to manager David Flynn, with whom she had three children) before wedding Keach in 1993, the year Dr. Quinn launched. Seymour and husband James Keach, who is a well-known director and the brother of actor Stacy Keach |
Audley Harrison
beat Kazakhstan's Mukhtarkhan Dildabekov to become the Heavyweight Gold Medallist at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He was the first Briton to win in the maximum weight class since Ronald Rawson's knockout win in 1920 and the first British Boxing Gold Medallist since Chris Finnegan took the middleweight Gold in 1968. Audley has a strong link with Hillingdon. He completed a 10,000-word thesis on amateur boxing for his Sports Science and Leisure Management degree at Brunel University. He currently has a boxing club in nearby Northolt. Well done Audley! Strangely enough both of the British Gold Medallist boxers have a Hillingdon Link - see Chris Finnegan lower down |

The Ring Magazine Fight of the Year 1972 involved Chris when he fought Bob Foster, unfortunately Chris was knocked out in the 14th round. When you see the 1971 "Fight of the Year" was between Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali and the 1973 FotY was between George Foreman and Joe Frazier you can see the level that Chris reached in his professional career. |
