13/09/81 – 10/06/97

David was just 15 years old when on Tuesday 10th June 1997 he was knocked down by a speeding car which mounted the pavement.

David was born on Sunday 13th September 1981 and even then had that infectious smile which everyone adored.

When David was just 18 months old I split with his Mother but was awarded full custody by the courts, so here I was a single Father bringing up an 18 month old child but I would not have swapped it for anything. I got jobs, which fitted in with David’s schooling, and early development and he grew in to a most loveable child.

At the age of 5 David took up Old Time and Modern & Latin dancing at the Royston Stemp School of Dancing which meets on Tuesdays in the Church Hall in Cowley. It was here that I met my Fiancée Bobbie who became more of a stepmother to David as the years went on. David excelled at his dancing and with a local girl Jane Welsh became one of the top boy girl couples in the country. They won trophies from the depth and breath of England also dancing at the Tower Ballroom Blackpool in the British Championships. As a couple they also danced for England in various team matches, to see them do so well filled us with immense pride.

David gave up dancing at the age of 12 but still played football for his school Uxbridge High, and also Drayton Wanderers. He was also very good at cricket and had trials for Middlesex County Cricket Club; he also played rugby, basketball and most sports for his school.

David loved life and respected anyone he met and for this earned his or her respect. In short if David was your friend he was your friend for life.

He was forever smiling never letting anything upset him for long and the house without him will never be the same, our lives will never be the same.
