Hillingdon On-line : Dogs TrustTour and Workshop

Contact Details | How to Book | Your Day at Harefield |

Hi, I’m Natalie, Education Officer for Dogs Trust Harefield.

We would like to invite your group to our Rehoming Centre for a fun and educational tour and workshop. Through enjoyable and engaging activities we encourage young people to discuss issues surrounding responsible dog ownership and safety around dogs. Also, children can learn about how the Rehoming Centre works and hopefully get the chance to meet one or two residents!

The workshops and tours:

  • Are suitable for children aged 7-11 years old
  • Support the non-statutory framework for PSHE and Citizenship
  • Are available Monday to Friday within term dates, between 11am-3.15pm
  • Can be adapted to suit your needs and timetable
  • And most of all they’re great fun!

Workshops last one hour and tours last 30 minutes. (Times are approximate and subject to change)

Your Day at Harefield

When you arrive I will be there to greet you and your group. After a quick visit to the cloakroom and toilets, and a read-through of the Advice Sheet, we'll head to the Education Barn for the workshop.

After the workshop the fun continues as the class gets a tour of the centre and a chance to see our resident canine friends!

We finish the tour with Question Time – a chance for you and your group to quiz our Education Officer on anything dog-related. Before you leave the centre, we'll present each pupil with a special certificate.

Special requests

We like to offer all groups the chance to indicate any particular areas or topics that they would like the workshop and/or tour to concentrate on. If you have any local dog-related issue you would like us to focus on, suggestions are always considered.

We endeavor to offer a 'Meet and Greet' with a carefully
selected dog from the centre if there is time.
