Traveller Education Service

The role of this service is two-fold:

• To provide specific support for mobile Traveller families to gain access to educational provision for their children

• To provide support for schools in meeting the needs of Traveller children.

The Traveller Education Service enjoys congenial and constructive working relationships with Harefield Infant School, Harefield Junior School and The Harefield Academy with regard to inclusion, attendance and achievement of the Traveller children in their schools.

The service is also fortunate to have a dynamic partnership with Hillingdon Traveller Support, a voluntary organisation, based in Harefield. We jointly offer training opportunities at school and service level, and have even produced a children’s book and work pack!
